The Wolf Blass Red Label range wines are currently reduced by a couple of dollars. All are readily available on the NSLC General List.
The two whites: Wolf BlassSemillon/Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are each priced at $12.99, while the reds: Shiraz/Grenache; Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet/Merlot are all $13.99
These Red Label wines all offer very good value together with consistently reliable quality. I have reviewed the entire range frequently in the past and you won’t go wrong with any of them.
The same holds true for the Masi Modello Rosso and Bianco Veneto IGT. The Modello Rosso is currently $13.99 ($1 off) and the Bianco, $12.99, also $1 off. These are typically Italian food friendly wines, very easy to drink and make adaptable pairings for a wide variety of dishes.
It appears that the excellent Wolf Blass Gold Label Riesling is being de-listed. Below is my review from October 24, 2014 when it was priced at $21.99. Currently, it has been reduced to $17.49.
Wolf Blass Gold Label Riesling 2011, Adelaide, South Australia 12% $17.49 NSLC (Larger Stores) Australian Riesling, though frequently very good, is usually quite distinctive from classic German Riesling. Not so this one. On the nose there is plenty of lime citrus, floral and petrol notes. Lime and mineral kick in strongly in the mouth with very brisk acidity and lingering citrus fruit sensations on the finish. Impressive value! ***
